About
Hi, my name is Micah Hunsberger, and I am an Infrastructure/DevOps Engineer based out of Indianapolis, Indiana, USA.
This is my personal site. I may add things about technology, board games, experiences, or just general ramblings.
The site is more of an experiment for myself than for anyone else or particular purpose. However, if you’ve found yourself here, welcome! I hope you get something out of it.
Personal Life
As an Indianapolis resident, I enjoy watching the Indiana Fever and walking on the Monon Trail. I particularly enjoy spending my time with friends by playing video games, board games, and disc golf.
Professional Life
Systems, platforms, and infrastructure, oh my!
In my professional career, I manage the automation, deployment, operation, and change processes of various software solutions and platforms in enterprise environments. Infrastructure/DevOps Engineer is the best title I could come up with to describe that, but I’ve also been called a Platform Engineer, Site Reliability Engineer, IT Operations Specialist, and probably some others as well.
My professional experience has been within the financial sector, either working for a payment gateway (Tempus Technologies) or a bank (PNC), so I’m used to working within heavily regulated environments.
Specializations
I mostly specialize in using Ansible for infrastructure-as-code automation. I have authored two Ansible modules: win_certificate_info, and win_hosts.
I also have extensive experience in PowerShell. It is probably my most comfortable language to work in, as I have created many modules using this language to help automate infrastructure on Windows Servers. Most of that work was custom solutions for an employer, but wimau is an example of a module I have published on the public PowerShell Gallery.
Currently, I am focused on managing the Elastic Stack platform (Elasticsearch, Logstash, and Kibana) for observability, logging, and analytics.
